Neighborhood groups and associations of the Beal council can enjoy their new social premises in less than a month.
The municipal government has put all the meat on the grill so that the new property responds to the claims plated by the neighbors in recent years because, as indicated by the Councilor for Urban Services, Projects and Works, Juan Pedro Torralba, "this place has been a historical demand of El Llano".
The new building has an area of 335 square meters, which are distributed on two floors, so that on the ground floor there are four offices and two meeting rooms, as well as two toilets and a room for cleaning, as well as a first floor, in which three meeting rooms, an office, two toilets and a small warehouse have been built.
But this place is much more than a set of rooms and offices, since it is the first municipal building that houses an urban garden on its roof.
It is an action with which the City Council seeks to strengthen the inclusion of new green areas and its biodiversity, since such inclusion has a positive impact on its inhabitants.
“The objective that we pursue with this 'green roof' is that residents and groups have a functional place to hold their meetings, while they have a space to grow native plants.
This garden also acts as a natural insulator for the building, since it absorbs excess heat, ”said Torralba.
The Government team wants to enhance the proliferation of urban gardens, with which it also complies with point 33 of the programmatic agreement, to help generate greater environmental awareness, in fact it will be the neighbors themselves who will be responsible for managing this space.
"From the council we are preparing a maintenance manual, very simple, so that they themselves are responsible for always being in the best conditions and thus promote their commitment to the environment," said the councilor.
The crops that are being planted are:
Cistus albidus (white jara): violet bloom, simple vertical.
Cistus clusii (male rosemary-rosemary): white flowering, branched vertical.
Crithmum maritimum (sea fennel): yellow bloom, horizontal corianic branched.
Lavandula dentata (lavender-lavender): violet, horizontal, robust and aromatic flowering.
Limonium caesium (purple evergreen): purple flowering in branched explosion.
Lotus creticus (horn): yellow flowering, branched vertical.
Lygeum spartum (esparto): non-representative flowering, open and hairy branched.
Santolina viscosa (botonera): yellow flowering, open branched and hairy.
Sedum sediforme (sedum): flowering not representative, fleshy, horizontal upholstery.
Thymbra capitata (thyme): non-representative flowering, open and aromatic branching.
The cost of the new facilities amounts to 358,000 euros, an amount that comes from the Neighborhood Plan resumed last year.
