This morning the extraordinary session of the Municipal Plenary Session of the City Council of Cartagena was held, which, as the only item on the agenda, addressed the tax increase proposed by the municipal government.

In the session, the Government, whose position has surprisingly defended the mayor of the PP, Diego Ortega, has tried to hide the tax increase and held responsible for the increase to municipal staff.

With the Government's vote, the maintenance of the tax reduction applied by MC Cartagena in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 annuities under the direction of the then Councilor for Finance, Isabel García García, and according to the instructions of the Mayor, José López Martínez, has been rejected , which have been in force until now due to the inability of the local government to modify them.

In the session, the alternate spokesman of MC Cartagena, Jesús Giménez Gallo, presented the particular vote of the Cartagena formation, recalling the irregularities of the process investigated by the courts and proposing a tax reduction supported by the opposition but rejected by PP, C´ S and transfugas.
