It is a building inspired by the greenhouses of the Campo de Cartagena and dedicated to spreading the folk traditions of the Region of Murcia.
The property has been designed by Xiomara López, from the School of Architecture and Building of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in his Final Degree Project (TFG).
The work, entitled “Hybrid Center for the Cultivation of the Artsâ€, is designed to host the different activities of the different folk music groups in their hometown, in Dolores de Pacheco.
The location proposed by Xiomara López for this center is on the edge of the village, next to the teaching equipment, thus combining the rural and urban areas.
This location would allow schoolchildren to have a space at hand to encourage their creativity and enhance local traditions.
The projected building is diaphanous and is structured in four levels.
Contemplate different capsules.
Each of them hosts a different use of the building: dance, music school, rehearsals of folk groups, library and a cafeteria around a central square for musical events.
The property occupies 6,000 square meters and can be built with low thermal transmittance polycarbonate plates, that is, high energy efficiency.
«It is a self-sufficient energy building.
It has solar panels and a rainwater collection system that is reused in irrigation of the space reserved for orchards projected inside, â€he explains.
The Final Degree Project has been directed by Professor Pedro Miguel Jiménez Vicario, from the area of Architectural Graphic Expression.
