Football is filled with the Christmas spirit with the celebration of the XVIII edition of the Gómez Meseguer Tournament of Cartagena FC.
The Ciudad Deportiva Gómez Meseguer, in the Polígono Cabezo Beaza, hosted last Saturday, December 21, the Football 8 tournament, in which more than 400 players from 29 teams (16 Alevines, 8 Prebenjamines and 5 Chupetas) of 20 different clubs, plus a thousand attendees.
Although the tournament was marked by the strong wind, the competition could be held without any problem.
The Éfese made available to all players and technical picnics and food to regain strength in the face of the final stretch.
In the Alevín category, Real Murcia won the trophy by defeating Ranero CF with a lonely goal in the final straight. Third place finished the Northwest by winning the penalty shootout at UD Almeria after finishing the match 0-0.
As for the individual trophies, the winners were: Santiago Martínez, from UD Almería (most regular player), Pablo Reyes, from Murcia Promesas (Top scorer) and Carlos Guirao, from Real Murcia CF (Best Goalkeeper).
In the Prebejamín category, the EF San Miguel trophy was won by beating UCAM CF by a tight 1-0 in a grand final.
As third place, Ranero CF finished defeating Efesé in the penalty shootout in the match for third and fourth place.
As for the individual trophies, the winners were: Alejandro Fabarron, of the EF San Miguel (most regular player), José Joaquín, of the EF San Miguel (Top scorer) and Pablo Loza, of the Cartagena FC (Best Goalkeeper).
The lollipops also had their Christmas tournament as an exhibition where the little ones could enjoy a great day of football.
Everyone had their cup and medal of champions.
