SYNOPSIS
Neighbors, youth and unemployed chat inside a bar between cigarettes, breakfasts and snacks.
They remember unusual dreams, share work concerns and plan future plans.
The bar is located in the city of Cartagena, in the southeast of the country.
As the day progresses, the disturbances of the 1992 industrial crisis are heard more and more closely.
That year the Olympic Games of Barcelona and the Universal Exhibition of Seville were held in Spain, linked to the celebration of the V Centenary of the Discovery of America.
The country presented itself to the international community as a developed, modern and dynamic country.
Meanwhile, in Cartagena, protests about the crisis acquire a growing violence until it ends with a massive revolt that leads to the burning of the regional parliament.
"I was born and raised in the city of Murcia although I have lived in Madrid since I was 18 years old. I spent a lot of my childhood visiting my paternal grandparents, who, for work reasons, had ended up living in Cartagena, the military and industrial port that he treasures an ancient rivalry with the capital. I remember that when I was seven years old we dedicated a class to coloring a template of the newly released regional parliament, which would have its headquarters in Cartagena. Its eclectic architecture was very striking for the time and all the children we We entertained painting that sheet of bright colors It was something new and beautiful and represented the maturity of Murcia as a Community deserving of a Statute of Autonomy The effigy of the facade of that building was engraved while I colored it, so I especially remember the day that burned. Nobody remembers this event. That burning parliament is the other side of 1992 for me, "says López Carrasco.
