The highlights for the future, according to the mayor, are three performances.
The main one, in terms of urban planning, lay the foundations to elaborate the Integral Plan of the Old Town, which will cover from Sr. Francisca Armendáriz to Serreta and Gisbert and from the San Diego Ascent to the Morería Baja and San Fernando, including the Plaza de La Merced and Monte Sacro.
According to Castejón, "the objective of the Government is to start rehabilitating this area in an orderly and planned manner, and may include Pedestrianization, which we will previously agree with neighbors and businessmen."
The other two projects in which the mayor has put emphasis are the Strategic Tourism Plan, in which the Autonomous Community will intervene, and the culmination of the performance in the Forum of the Roman District with the inauguration of its Museum, 'contributing in a way determinant of the value of this site, which is the most important urban archaeological park in Spain '.
Mar Menor
The program of the government team includes the construction of housing for young people, the development of the entrepreneurial neighborhood, the recovery of the Gisbert Market and, above all, work on the recovery of the villages of the Mar Menor most damaged by the DANA, attending always to the requests of the neighbors of El Carmolí, Punta Brava, El Algar, Los Nietos, Islas Menores, Playa Honda and Playa Paraíso, where it is proceeding to the asphalting of streets, replacement of lighting and other arrangements.
'In short,' said Ana Belén Castejón, 'we will attend all the initial requests charged to the 250,000 euros included in this year's budget, to which the works we will undertake next year will be added next to the 2020 budget , which are still to be defined '.
Along these lines, a Plan for the coastal towns of the Mar Menor is being prepared with the objective of unifying their image and contributing to improve it.
"All the reforms we undertake will be carried out following this project," said the mayor.
Education
From the Department of Education, the network of study classrooms (El Algar, El Albujón, Pozo Estrecho are already underway) will be expanded to meet the demand of young people.
As the mayor has announced, 'in the Historic Center we have planned to prepare an area of the Bus station to accommodate a classroom with capacity for more than one hundred study posts.
The project is very advanced and we will present it shortly. '
Along these same lines, two more study classrooms will be enabled over the next year, whose location will be determined based on the demands and needs of each area.
Also, 500,000 euros will be allocated for the urbanization of the surroundings of the school of La Aljorra.
This week, the City Council acquired the land to expand the access roads to the future educational center.
Environment
With the Mobility Plan of the municipality practically completed based on the studies of the Polytechnic University, the objective is to improve mobility, be a reference for the industries linked to the environment, and start with the house itself, 'we are trying to progressively all the vehicles that are incorporated into the mobile park of the City Council and the concessionaires are fossil fuel of last generation or electric, and increasing the charging points of electric vehicles, we have 3 and soon we will double them, 'explained the mayor.
Cultural and Archaeological Heritage
In addition to the inauguration of the Museum of the Roman Forum, an important heritage and tourist landmark of the municipality, the Council Chapel will be valued, as soon as the Bishopric of the Master Plan ends, and the Despeñaperros Master Plan has been prepared, which It will be presented shortly.
With all this, Ana Belén Castejón made it clear that 'it is about developing the city project we want and we are very clear how we want to achieve it;
with planning, order, consensus and the greatest possible stability '.
Projects of other administrations
The mayor has assured during her meeting with the media that from the municipal government they will be very attentive to meeting project deadlines that must be carried out by other administrations in the municipality.
Thus, the regional administration will be reminded of the commitment of the president of the Autonomous Community to include a sufficient item in the 2020 budget so that the Hemodynamics service is implemented in Cartagena 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
The evolution of the LAZ will also be closely monitored, 'we need that the LAZ be a reality as soon as possible and is now slowed down in the Community.
They must unlock it so that Cartagena has the infrastructure we need, 'Castejón said.
On the other hand, the mayor assured that the Government of Spain will be asked to respond once and for all to the lack of judicial infrastructure in Cartagena.
We have put everything on our side and continue to do so, but they have to answer us.
We need to know what they want to help them and keep moving forward to build the future City of Justice. '
'For the moment,' he continued, 'the commitments acquired by the Ministry of Development are being fulfilled, but the 2020 budget is crucial for fundamental projects such as the AVE or the Amphitheater to progress at the pace that Cartagena requires.'

In response to questions from the media, Ana Belén Castejón has announced that in the municipal budgets for 2020 'the game destined for the villages damaged by the DANA will have priority and there will also be a very large item for the General Urban Planning Plan.
In addition, we will not give up the items destined for social policies, which are the hallmark of this City Council. '
