Before the statement issued today by the Regional Assembly of Murcia in which he states: “The Regional Assembly Board unanimously decides to extend the stay of the UPCT in the Alberto Colao residence while maintaining the payment established in the 2014 agreement,” the rector from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Daz, affirms that the teaching institution has been paying an annual amount of 75,000 euros to the Regional Assembly since 2014 as a penalty for the delay in the delivery of the property of the university residence, and the proposal of the Bureau of the Assembly communicated today to the UPCT contemplates an annual penalty as of January 1, 2020 of € 144,000, which represents an increase of 92%.
The Governing Council of the UPCT will meet tomorrow, in an extraordinary session, to discuss the proposed conditions for the transfer of the building.
