More than 700 pre-university students have learned about applied research, technological innovations and competition teams that differentiate the training offer of the Polytechnic of Cartagena
Students of training cycles in Telecommunications and Computer Systems and in Automation and Robotics have made today the last of the scheduled personalized visits to the Polytechnic of Cartagena this quarter within the new pre-university orientation service 'Discover the UPCT', with which more 700 students have passed through the most advanced laboratories and have glimpsed the technological advances in which the researchers of the University work.
Specifically, Salesian students are discovering this morning the laboratories of the UPCT Technological Research Support Service and their work in additive manufacturing and 3D scanning, as well as the autonomous car project of the Polytechnic, its drone team and its Center for Digital Content Production.
The UPCT has multiplied this year its efforts to publicize its training offer to pre-university youth in the Region of Murcia and neighboring provinces.
The new personalized visit service has attracted over seven hundred students from 18 educational centers in the last two months, coming from ten different municipalities.
The Polytechnic University of Cartagena offers almost thirty activities to Secondary Education centers inside and outside the Region of Murcia.
In the activities, which will be carried out throughout the course, pre-university students have the opportunity to learn about applied research, technological innovations and competition teams that differentiate the UPCT training offer.
Registrations began to be collected on October 1 and are offered through an interactive catalog.
The educational centers that visited the UPCT this quarter have been able to customize their itineraries based on the characteristics and interests of their students and have discovered some of the most striking research of the Polytechnic of Cartagena at the hands of their protagonists, while they have known the powerful equipment available to the University and the competition teams that make up its students.
The visits of educational centers to the UPCT continue this Wednesday with a group of students from San Juan Bosco School.
The next day will be the Polytechnic of Cartagena which visits three institutes of the Northwest of the Region, two in Caravaca and another in Cehegín.
After the Christmas break, the traditional itineraries for the UPCT campuses will begin and more visits will be made to educational centers and to fairs and information and orientation events for pre-university students.
Other options available in the catalog presented this 2019-2020 course are gamification activities such as "Challenge me and I learn", "Contests San José Challenges" to improve the skills of high school students in the field of industrial engineering or "Biotechnological Routes "e" Agrifood teaching itineraries "where young people experience a complete immersion in the world of the Agrifood Industry and Horticulture.
