The program 'The Popular University in your neighborhood' of the Popular University, belonging to the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, opens this Tuesday, December 17, the deadline for registration to adult population groups in neighborhoods and districts of the municipality of Cartagena
It is a cultural development program in neighborhoods and councils aimed at promoting social participation, training, personal growth and culture to improve the quality of life, cooperation and interaction in the neighborhood.
It is an offer of free workshops of short duration, aimed at the adult population, represented through groups and associations of the municipality.
These workshops cover different thematic blocks:
Artistic expression workshops in which participants experiment with various materials, disciplines and artistic techniques developing their creativity.
Working materials as diverse as leather, cardboard, tin, ceramics, and other recycling materials.
Health and wellness workshops through which healthy lifestyles are learned, and where attitudes and values ​​are also developed that lead to behaviors committed to the conservation and improvement of one's health and the environment in which we live.
Humanities workshops in which traditions are kept alive through cultural activities, as well as the link with the community, its surroundings, its history and its people.
Previously, a public call was made for training projects for the implementation of this program with the purpose of expanding and renewing the offer of previous workshops.
Once the admission and project selection phases have been completed, all the information related to this program has been published on the website up.cartagena.es, at the same time as the registration period for the groups and associations from this Tuesday until the courses are covered.
People interested in participating in these workshops can ask in the associations of their neighborhoods and councils, in order to know the workshops demanded to enroll in them.
These workshops will be held in the period from January to June 2020.
