2019 is a significant year in memory of our universal Cartagena poet Carmen Conde.
On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of his admission to the Royal Spanish Academy and the 90th edition of his first work 'Brocal', the City of Cartagena, through the Carmen Conde-Antonio Oliver Board of Trustees, has organized a series of activities to remember these significant events for Cartagena.
The Municipal Archives of Cartagena hosts until the end of March next year a new exhibition on the first edition of Carmen Conde's booklet 'Brocal'.
The exhibition was visited on the morning of December 11 by the Councilor for the area of Culture, David Martnez, the Councilor for this area, Carlos Piana, the director of the Board of Trustees Carmen Conde, Cayetano Tornel, the technician of the Board of Trustees, Caridad Fernndez or the director of the Popular University, Pepe Macin.
In addition, the councilors of the municipal corporation, Jess Gimnez and Aurelia Garca, have attended.
On the occasion of the first edition of 'Brocal', a book of prose poems published in 1929, with the presence of nature and whose theme is love, the Councilor for Culture, Carlos Piana, explained that visitors can approach The figure of Carmen Conde and her poems through "photographs, copies of other editions, letters or newspaper publications", which you will find in the exhibition.
A journey through the era, the historical context and the literary characters who first met the work of the Cartagena writer.
In addition to the opening of the exhibition, the presentation of the new edition of the poetry book 'Brocal' has taken place.
This has been co-edited by Mara Jos Vzquez and Francisco de la Iglesia and features illustrations by Virginia Bernal.
