A tourist from Miranda de Ebro who is knowing the cultural heritage of Cartagena has completed this morning on Wednesday, December 11, the 2 million visitors that the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena has registered since its inauguration.
The visitor has been greeted by the president of the Community, Fernando López Miras and the vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, who participated this morning in the meeting of the Roman Theater Foundation.
The Vice Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, has said that the Roman Theater is a success of archeology and a pride for the Cartagena people and has been very satisfied with the tourist interest that the monument has aroused since its opening and that it has become “in the most visited in the Region of Murcia and one of the most visited museums in Spain â€.
For its part, the director of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena, Elena Ruiz Valderas, said that the number of visitors has grown by six percent over the previous year.
"It is very satisfying to think that in less than eleven years we have reached this figure."
In addition, Ruiz Valderas has described the influx of public on the December bridge as "great."
The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, says that these figures consolidate the Roman Theater of Cartagena as one of the "flagships" of Cartagena at the tourist level.
He also states that these data reinforce the candidacy of Cartagena as a World Heritage City by UNESCO.
