The gangs of La Aljorra, Isla Plana, Molinos Marfagones and Tallante meet this Saturday, December 14, to interpret various eagles or Easter songs, at the door of the Town Hall.
The meeting, which will be from 7 pm, is organized by the Department of Celebrations of the City of Cartagena.
They will interpret the various Aguilanos or Easter cantes in which local differences are appreciated, although they all start from a common trunk and that some researchers date back to Spanish-Arabic musical expressions.
Subsequently, they were transformed into Renaissance pieces of court, with a more solemn air, which Philip II even danced.
But the people never lost them, linked to the brotherhoods of parochial souls, enjoyed widespread since the eighteenth century in our region.
The crews of the Spanish Southeast improvise the couplets, characteristic feature in a land of troveros.
Some of these groups of musicians present in their repertoire songs of jacks, malagueñas or fandangos danceable.
