The Plenary Session of the City Council of Cartagena has unanimously approved an initiative of all municipal groups and councilors not attached to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In the form of an institutional declaration, the Corporation has expressed its commitment to work and bet on a society of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, respecting the difference and diversity of people, making cities coexistence spaces in which all people can develop their activities and enjoy their physical environment, accessing the same places, areas, goods and services, by removing the physical, social and ideological barriers that can prevent it.
All of this, the declaration concludes, achieve an inclusive, supportive and accessible city.
The Municipal Corporation has once again held a marathon session on Wednesday in which more than a hundred initiatives of the municipal groups have been discussed, some of them pending the meeting on October 31, which had to be suspended.
COMMERCIAL AREA IN CABO DE PALOS
Previously, in the session, chaired by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, the punctual modification of point 2 of the Partial Plan of the CP2 sector of Cabo de Palos, presented by the Community of Owners 'El Mercadillo' of the Center, has been definitively approved Commercial Las Dunas.
The matter has had the votes in favor of the municipal government councilors (PP, Citizens and unassigned councilors), along with those of MC Cartagena.
Against Vox has been placed, while United We can-Iu-Equo has abstained.
The modification of CP2 Partial Plan entails the reclassification of about 20 thousand square meters of hoteliers for tertiary use, which will allow the installation of the so-called showcase industries, mainly commercial establishments, and the relocation of a transformation center.
The file was exposed to the public for a month, after its initial approval, recording a single claim, referring to a correction of alignments, which has been estimated.
Once approved by the plenary, it must be published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia, the urbanization project is being processed, which is already being done in parallel after its approval by the Local Government Board, and the reparcelación project must be approved, before granting the first work licenses.
The process of this modification began in 2016. During the process, it has had to undergo a strategic environmental assessment report that has concluded that such modification has no significant effects on the environment.
This is an old claim of the merchants of Cabo de Palos, which will solve the problem with the low located next to the market, which occupy approximately 3,800 square meters.
As soon as the administrative process is finished, these premises can be rehabilitated and occupied, which will boost the commercial life of the area.
In addition, a very important step will be taken for the authorization of 7,471 square meters of building surface for tertiary use in which large commercial areas may be installed.
2019 BUDGETS
The Plenary has also been informed of the final approval of the 2019 municipal budgets in the absence of allegations during the month in which they have been exposed to the public.
Up to now it has been running with the extensions of 2018. The approval of the new ones will allow in this month the remainder of execution, adjust items and actions that had been left without consignment.
PARENTAL PIN
Within the motion of motions, the plenary session has approved the one formulated by United We-IU-Equo urging the regional government to withdraw the so-called parental PIN by which schools must request the prior permission of parents for their children to receive workshops affective-sexual diversity.
The agreement has come forward with the support of the proponents, together with MC Cartagena and the non-assigned councilors of the municipal government.
Against the PP, Citizens and Vox groups have been positioned.
HIGH VOLTAGE IN SANTA ANA POLYGON
Likewise, a motion by the United Podemos-IU-Equo has been approved, urging the municipal government to draw up a proposal to divert the high-voltage line that crosses the Santa Ana Polygon, to transfer it to Iberdrola, and thus comply with the principle as a precaution against a possible danger to human health.
The Councilor for Infrastructure, María Casajús, has indicated that the line complies with the electromagnetic regulations but understands the position of the neighbors and has already contacted the electricity company to prepare proposals for their transfer or burial and the costs that would entail .
The initiative has been approved with the only abstention of Vox, which has ensured that it is not against the diversion but it will be necessary to see who pays it.
AVOID FLOODING IN NIETOS AND BAHÃA BELLA
The Vox group has been the proponent of the motion passed unanimously on actions necessary to avoid future flood damage in the towns of Los Nietos and Bahía Bella.
The initiative urges the Regional Ministry of Development of the Autonomous Community to build a bridge on the RM-F54 at its junction with the Rambla de la Carrasquilla of sufficient clearance so that the road does not constitute an obstacle to the flow that can happen by the ravine;
as well as to the Segura Hydrographic Confederation to keep perfectly clean all vegetation, small rambles and ramblizos that flow into the Mar Menor and so that in the final sections of the channeling of the ramblas that pour into the Mar Menor materials are used or non-erodible systems that prevent breakage.
SUPPORT FOR FORCES AND SECURITY BODIES
The Corporation has also approved a joint motion made by PP, MC Cartagena, Citizens, Vox and the six unassigned councilors, which expresses the support and recognition of the Cartagena City Council for the work carried out by the Security Forces and Corps of the State in Catalonia.
The motion, supported by the proponents, has had the abstention of United Podemos-Iu-Equo.
ANIMAL WELFARE
Animal welfare has been another issue that has received the approval of the Corporation, through a joint motion of Mc Cartagena and United We-Iu-Equo, which urges the Regional Government to develop the regulations of the Law of Protection and Defense of Companion Animals of the Region of Murcia as well as the development of a Municipal Animal Welfare Ordinance, which assumes the legal principle of zero sacrifice.
The motion has been supported by all councilors, except for those of Vox, who have abstained.
The plenary session that has lasted for more than eight hours has been divided into two sessions, one in the morning, in which the affairs of the day order and the 24 motions submitted have been discussed;
and another in the afternoon, quite fluid in which the municipal government has answered a total of 74 questions referring to different aspects of its management and has collected five requests made by the three opposition groups.
