The president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, and two members of his cabinet have visited this Tuesday, December 3, together with the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, the headquarters of the Asilo Store Foundation of San Pedro, located in the Lo neighborhood Campano, and have known the courses and workshops of occupational training that are taught in this institution.

Subsequently, Santa Ana has moved to visit the Torre Nazaret home, where the foundation maintains a permanent residence for AIDS patients and people with disabilities.

The Asilo San Pedro Store Foundation celebrates 125 years working in Cartagena for the integration of people at risk of social exclusion, a work that has been recognized with a Gold Medal, and that has the collaboration of the administrations, both City Hall and the Autonomous community.

That support has been shown this morning during the visit in which, in addition to the President and the Deputy Mayor, the vice president of the regional government and counselor of Social Services, Isabel Franco, and the health counselor, Manuel Villegas.

The vice mayor recalled the merits of the Foundation, which 'has been working in Cartagena for more than a hundred years for the integration of the neighborhood and focuses its efforts on offering training courses and occupational workshops', which has allowed offering an outlet to people who they saw unemployed in the worst moments of the crisis.

In this sense, the president of the Foundation, Nicol Muñoz, pointed out to those who have helped to recycle, 'people with ages that were around 45 years, mostly from the world of construction and, suddenly, They saw unemployment.

Now, thanks to the training received they have been able to relocate. '

Thus, the most demanded courses are Welding, Healthcare or environmental management.

The occupational center of the Asilo San Pedro Store Foundation serves a hundred people at risk of exclusion per year, reaching occupancy levels of more than 90 percent.
