The Apollo Theater of El Algar dressed up last Saturday, November 30 to decorate the Algareño of the Year 2019. In this third edition, José Antonio Martínez Mellinas received the highest distinction of the Algareño awards ceremony.
The gala was attended by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García and the Councilor for Infrastructure, Services and Coast, María Casajús, along with the president of the Neighborhood Board, Paqui Martínez, the president of the Neighborhood Association, Pedro García and the presidents and representatives of the algarense brotherhood of Holy Week, Apollo Theater and the Association of Neighbors of Los Urrutias, among others.
Before obtaining José Antonio Martínez Mellinas the Algareño 2019 award for 'his vocation of service towards others, for his human values ​​and for the social work he carries out with the people', the Bolillo Association and the Surmenor Sports Association were recognized .
The Bolillo Association was the first awarded for 'its delivery and dedication'.
These artisans every two years organize a regional meeting of bolilleras whose seventh edition will take place on June 4, 2020.
The Surmenor Sports Group received the award 'for group effort and perseverance'.

The gala, which began with a video of images about El Algar, featured the performances of Juanjo Matas and the tribute to Rocío Jurado of the archenean singer Fany Hidalgo.
The evening ended with the dances of MarDance and the humor of Charly.
