The Algar took this Sunday, December 1, its solidarity side in the II edition of the Race and Urban March 'Move Life'.
More than 700 runners participated in this sporting event, organized by the Trail Running Club El Algar, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
All the benefits collected have been destined for the sick and the fight against cancer.
The five-kilometer test through the urban area of ​​El Algar, which began from the Philippines Avenue, located next to the Parroco José María Serrano Meseguer Park, was assisted by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García and the president of the delegation of the Algar of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, María del Carmen Pérez.
In the section of the race, in the single male category, the athlete Juan Antonio Inglés, of the Trail Running Club El Algar, won the victory, followed by Julio José Lozano, Alumbres Sport and Eduardo Galindo, from CD Runtriton.
In the women's category, Simona Slimaite was the winner, while María Dolores Cegarra, of the Trail Running Club El Algar and Marina Lledó, of CA Mandarache, obtained second and third place, respectively.
The local men's category podium was occupied by Lázaro Álvarez, David Moral, of the Trail Running Club El Algar and Barry Healy, in this order.
And in the female category, Noelia Garcerán, Toñy Mendez and María Sánchez.
The sports and solidarity test ended with the tasting of a plate of crumbs.
