Normality in schools after the rains this morning (03/12/2019)

The precipitations fallen in the last hours have forced to cut the passage of vehicles in the following roads of the municipal term of Cartagena, according to the Local Police:

Carretera del Sifón (between El Bohío and Las Tejeras).

Carretera de El Albujón - La Aljorra.

Crossing the waterfront in Los Belones (Green Field).

Camino de La Mina at its intersection with Rambla de El Albujón

The rest is passable, although caution is recommended and avoid unnecessary displacement, as well as do not wade channels or park in flood areas.

NORMALITY IN SCHOOLS

The Local Police have reinforced their presence at the entrance of the schools, especially in those that present problems in case of rain.

Officials of the Department of Education have moved early this morning to check the status of schools.

Technicians have reported that usually all are in good condition.

Especially those of La Puebla, Pozo Estrecho, La Aljorra, La Palma and La Manga, although some with water accumulated in areas of their yards, which does not prevent school activity.

The main incidence, however, has been recorded in Alumbres, which is without electric fluid, like the rest of the town since this morning.

Some centers have planned not to go out to the playground during recess to avoid the danger of falling branches due to wind gusts.

BUSES RUNNING

Urban buses have resumed their services early in the morning without incident, operating all lines, as reported by the Department of Infrastructure.

PRECIPITATIONS

According to data from the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, at a quarter to seven this morning, the areas of the municipality that had registered the highest rainfall in the last twelve hours had been in the rain gauges located on the Rambla de Benipila, in Cartagena, with 52 liters;

in Pozo Estrecho, with 51 liters;

and in La Puebla, with 49 liters.

NO INCIDENCES

From the Fire Service they report that there has been no rescue or intervention because of the rains.

On the other hand, during the night the three reception centers attended by officials and volunteers of Civil Protection of the City Council of Cartagena in the Los Nietos College, Los Urrutias Social Center and the Sports Pavilion of Barrio Peral-Cuatro Santos, have remained open, that they have not registered any incidents

People who requested more information about the announcements issued by public address system have been attended and thanked the Town Hall for their gesture.

THE WARNINGS FOLLOW

The orange alert that due to heavy rains, which was activated at 12 this morning has been reduced by AEMET until 12 this noon, in which it will pass to yellow level with rainfall of up to 25 liters per square meter in one hour, until 12 o'clock at night it will be deactivated.

As for the wind, from seven o'clock this morning it is in yellow level with gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour and that will remain until six o'clock this afternoon.

However, the orange warning for waves on the coast will remain activated until 12 pm Tuesday.

For this reason, citizens are advised not to approach the coast, because of the danger of being dragged by the waves and warning of the possible fall of branches or elements of the facades by the wind.
