Last Thursday, the local government, through Vice Mayor Noelia Arroyo, announced the program of activities commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities organized by the Consistory.
The opposition Municipal Groups were not invited to the event, in an incomprehensible and arbitrary decision that turned the act into a propaganda and partisan initiative.
This situation has been assessed by the Councilor of MC Cartagena, María José Soler, who has informed the letter addressed to the Mayor's Office to "cease the propaganda and censorship practices of Arroyo."
After that, Soler has lamented that the vice mayor has needed "less than six months to prove that she confuses the institution with her person giving continuity to the sectarian model that Castejón established in the City Council and she in the regional government."
"They are aware of the social rejection caused by their pact against Cartagena. They want to avoid comparisons and, therefore, do not invite us to institutional activities," he said.
Manifesto vetoed to the opposition
The leader of MC has continued explaining that "as an example of this new veto they impose on us, this Sunday we were not invited to read the manifesto 'Cartagena for inclusion'. In addition, a few days before, eventual staff asked the councilors of MC that we put ourselves behind the cameras at the opening ceremony of the Technical Accessibility Office. "
"It is an attitude that produces that the honorees or protagonists of the act, which are not Arroyo or Castejón although they believe it, may perceive less support that, of course, does not correspond to our performance," he reasoned.
Soler has concluded by reminding both of them that "even if they only look for their photo, they should not forget that the institutional means are not the propaganda belt of their people or their parties, the one that has it, even if they occupy the Government of Cartagena."
