The Group of Prayer in the Garden yesterday elected Francisco José López Fidel as president for the next four years.
After eight years as top leader of the oldest of the Californian groups, this incarnate butler receives again overwhelming support in the electoral process that culminated last night.
Of the 35 brothers who went to the polls, out of a total of 76 with the right to vote, López Fidel reached 29 favorable votes, five ballots were blank and there was only one null vote.
López Fidel, 53, is an entrepreneur.
Married and father of two daughters, he has been on the board of directors of the Prayer in the Garden since 1993, when he was president of the same who later became Californian elder brother Carlos Ferrándiz.
Since that time he has held different positions of responsibility as a senior penitent, treasurer and vice president until his first election as chief agent in 2011.
