Nearly fifty users of the Homeless and Transient Attention Service of the Department of Social Services participate today, Thursday, November 28, in a cultural visit to Lorca with which the City of Cartagena has joined the celebration of the International Day of the Homeless.
The Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, has come this morning to fire them and participate in the reading of the manifesto, which has been carried out by three people from the different entities that have collaborated, and with whom they have recalled that, both Spanish Constitution as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, includes the universal right to decent housing.
“The administrations play a very important role and it is our obligation to work together with you to help you reverse this situation, giving you comprehensive attention that favors your integration and access to the resources we offer.
For that, the invaluable collaboration of the social entities is being fundamental and today we thank you again for your willingness to organize the visit with which we commemorate this day, â€said Garcia.
For the planning of this visit, the Department of Social Services has had the collaboration of Cáritas, Red Cross, Accem, La Huertecica and the Hospitality of Santa Teresa.
Through this activity, which also includes a tour on the tourist train through the city of Lorca, ascent to the Castle and theatrical visit, users will get to know first hand the project 'Lorca, workshop of time'.
