26 students and students of the chef and restaurant service courses have received their diplomas today that accredits them to take advantage of the knowledge acquired, in an event held in the classrooms of La Milagrosa, which has had the councilor responsible for the Agency of Local Development and Employment of the City of Cartagena (ADLE), Irene Ruiz.
It has been the Councilor for Employment, Irene Ruiz, responsible for dismissing students and giving them their titles, in an act accompanied by their families, who have been able to enjoy a tasting prepared by all of them.
The 14 students of the Cooking course began their training on March 1 and will finish the theoretical part on December 3, with a total of 730 hours.
From December 9 to 20, they will carry out their non-working professional practices at the Prince Felipe de la Manga Club Hotel, Alfonso XIII Hotel, La Tartana Restaurant, the Jardines de los Molinos Hall of Celebrations, the Tapería Restaurant at Casa Tomas , AMG catering and hospital Virgen de la Caridad.
The knowledge acquired has revolved around safety and hygiene in hospitality, preparation and preservation of all types of food, creative cuisine or even decoration and exhibition of dishes.
After completing their training they will be guided through the ADLE Labor Intermediation Department to enter the world of work.
Due to the great demand by the hoteliers of the region, the agency develops courses focused on this sector such as cooking, along with others of ham cutter, sushi cook or croquettes.
These Courses are funded by the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the European Social Fund.
RESTAURANT SERVICES
The 12 students who have been trained since last July in the Restaurant Services course have also received their degrees.
These will finish their theoretical training on December 10, thus completing a total of 500 hours, to move on to non-work professional practices until the 23rd in the same establishments as the kitchen.
All of them have been trained in fields such as wine service, dishes, catering, safety and hygiene or English.
During their theoretical training they have also carried out different services for the City Council of Cartagena, the agency itself and non-profit associations.
Participants thus obtain the Certificate of Professionalism in order to enter the labor market in this area and will be integrated into the placement agency department.
These courses are being carried out due to the demand of the tourism sector in the region and restoration, achieving a high placement rate of up to 70%.
