The city of Cartagena has managed to increase the selective collection of glass by eight percent between June and August of this year compared to the previous one.
The 150 premises of the municipality that participated in the Ecovidrio Green Flag campaign recycled more than 73,750 kilos of waste.
This initiative aimed to promote the recycling of glass among the bars and restaurants of the coastal municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
This Wednesday, November 27, the Councilor for Infrastructure, Services and Coast of Cartagena, María Casajús, has received the distinction from Ecovidrio at the headquarters of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment.
During the campaign, information and sensitization actions of the businessmen of the sector have been developed and the hoteliers have been provided with specific cubes to facilitate separation at source.
In the municipality of Cartagena, a total of 172 stores spread across different coastal locations were invited to participate in the campaign, of which 150 were those that finally joined.
In these premises, informative work was carried out by Ecovidrio personnel, informative materials were distributed and a total of 70 special cubes for glass collection were distributed.
