Students of the Virgen de Begoņa school and San Isidoro and Santa Florentina have learned on November 15 and 22 about the Mar Menor and its surroundings.
The workshop is part of the Educational Programs Unit of the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena.
In this workshop the children have been able to know the different environments that are inside the salt lagoon.
In addition, this activity aims to promote respect for this natural environment of the coast.
The activity begins with a theoretical presentation with audiovisual support on the Mar Menor and its surroundings in the social premises of Los Urrutias and later a didactic tour is made along the beach, through Monte Carmolí and the surroundings of Los Urrutias.
A total of 11 educational centers will carry out during this 2019/20 course this program that aims to ensure that students know the different environments that the coast of the Mar Menor houses and assess the importance of wetlands in the regional environment while promoting Respect for the natural space and the analysis of the problem of the rural environment of this space.
The field book 'Meet the Mar Menor: Los Urrutias' is the right material to continue working in class and strengthen the concepts, terms and definitions seen during the visit.
