La Cuesta del Batel was the starting point of the I edition of the Can We Run of Cartagena, which was held this Sunday, November 24, organized by La Opinion of Murcia and the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
Accompanied by their best friends, the participants disputed the test in two modalities with their pets, either walking in the Family category with 1.5 km non-competitive, or running in the Runner category with 3 km.
Juan Antonio Sánchez, with a time of 10 minutes and 48 seconds, and Natalia Frutos, with 12:37, have been the champions in the male and female categories.
After them, in the second position were Andrés Gálvez (10:53) and Salvador Moreno (11:09), in men;
and Virginia García (13:55) and Eva Gloria Belmonte (14:13), in women.
After the awards ceremony, canine and agility exhibitions were held, as well as an adoption catwalk with the aim of promoting this practice when adding a new member to the family, but also avoiding the abandonment of pets.
30% of the funds raised will go to an animal protector.
Cartagena thus joins this I edition of the race to other cities such as Alicante, Zamora, Gijón, Málaga, Vigo, Palma de Mallorca or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
