The Autonomous Community invests 230,000 euros in the repair of the regional road that connects the Cartagena deputation of La Puebla with the hamlet of Pozo Aledo (RM-F28) which, at the height of the crossing with the Rambla del Albujón, was severely affected by the overflow of the channel causing important breaks in its pavement that forced the traffic to cut it.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, and the Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, today supervised the emergency work that "is the most costly action of the work being done to repair the most important damages in the regional network caused by the Dana ".
All performances will conclude before the end of the year.
"The virulence of the water in its passage from the Rambla del Albujón has caused breaks in both the firm and its support slopes, at kilometer 11 of this road," said the counselor who indicated that reconstruction will be necessary. Complete the platform and sign at that point.
The action includes the repair of the eroded slope, at another point on the regional road, which has produced a lateral step of approximately 30 meters in length and a height of more than one meter.
Díez de Revenga explained that, in addition, you have to rebuild the shoulder along the entire stretch to recover the width of the platform to avoid the longitudinal step that currently has the entire road because "the water drag has made the shoulders and berms disappear" .
It will also proceed to clean the plant material, reeds and shrubs, which have been deposited in the margins preventing in some points the visibility of the safety barrier, which has been left without captafaros and that will have to be restored.
Once the works are finished, it will be necessary to repaint the road markings, both the axis and the lateral bands, since the accumulation of mud in the road has left them without visibility.
In addition, actions will be carried out in five more points on regional roads that run in the municipality of Cartagena to solve damages that affect road safety.
The regional investment will be 602,043 euros.
On the road that runs between El Albujón and Los Beatos (RM-311), the Ministry will perform a timely action to repair a breakage of the road.
Another action on the RM-F54 road, which connects Los Belones with Los Urrutias (RM-F54), as requested by the City Council of Cartagena;
In addition, another work has started on the Albujón road (RM-E33), a work to prevent flooding on the road.
La Garapacha road cut
The counselor reported the cut of the La Garapacha highway (RM-A17), which connects the municipality of Fortuna with the La Zarza district, after detecting security problems caused by risks of landslides on the mountain slope.
Ten of Revenga pointed out that the damages are related by the effects of the Dana.
Specifically, traffic has been cut at kilometer 19.25, in the Peña de Zafra de Arriba and Peña de Zafra de Abajo, and users have four alternatives: by the route that connects Fortuna with Abanilla (RM-A7) ;
the one that joins Abanilla and Venta Collares (RM-412);
between Venta Collares and Pinoso (RM-422);
and the road between La Zarza and Casablanca (RM-A10).
