In just one year, the Talent Return Program to Cartagena, the initiative promoted by the Department of Youth to facilitate the return of emigrated young talent, has made a total of 18 young people return to the municipality.
The mayor of Youth, David Martínez Noguera, explained that “during these months our technicians have assisted 108 people interested in returning to Cartagena, after seeking new opportunities in countries around the world.
In this first year of the program, 18 young professionals with international experience have already returned to Cartagena, with 11 being hired by companies collaborating with the program ”.
As reflected in the follow-up report, 58% of young people who have signed up for the Return program are men and 42% are women.
The technicians and counselors have attended by country of residence applications from countries spread all over the world: United Kingdom concentrates 19% of young people who want to return, followed by European countries such as Romania, Sweden, Greece, Holland, Norway or Finland with a 16%, Germany 8%, Italy 7%, America 3% and Middle East 2%.
45% are returned users in the last 6 months.
"For our young people it is important to be able to develop their professional life in their city and for Cartagena their learning and their experience are vital for the professionalization and modernization of many sectors," said the councilor.
In order for the Talent Return Program to succeed, the involvement of companies is also necessary.
To date, a total of 61 companies have joined and have an ideal platform to contact young professionals with languages ​​and international experience.
Through their own section on the web of Return to Cartagena (www.retornoacartagena.es), companies have already published more than 110 job offers for young people from Cartagena who wish to return.
