The Exhibition Hall of the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena since last night hosts the own collection 'Oxide Lover', by the Cartagena artist Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta, "whose end and principle is the artist himself", who describes it as "an irrepresentable portrait on par that hyperrepresented, where myth is invention and certainty. "
The inauguration of the exhibition that deals with the body, psyche and intimacy, with lines and curves composing structures, was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, the second deputy mayor, Manuel Padín, the councilor of the area of Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez, the delegated councilor of this area, Carlos Piñana and the delegated councilor of the area of Transparency, General Services and Electronic Administration, Alejandra Gutiérrez.
The visit that was guided by the artist himself was also attended by the councilor of the municipal corporation, Gonzalo Abad and the general director of Strategic Projects of Historical-Artistic Cultural Heritage, Damián Pérez.
The work of Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta is at the same time the culmination and transgression of a type of sculpture that has its roots in Spanish novecentismo and international formalism, consigning to the creative act the mission of dismantling reality and rebuilding it.
He also drinks from the classical tradition, which explains the quality in some of his creations of the characters typical of classical statuary.
The exhibition invites you to travel to the end, an example of the recognition of Sáenz de Elorrieta as an architect of a work where aesthetics, metaphysics and meaning merge in the blast furnace of creativity itself.
'Oxide Lover' can be visited until Sunday, December 8, from Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 1:30 pm and from 5 pm to 7 pm and Sundays and holidays, from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
Monday closed except cruises.
