Some 500 athletes, including runners and walkers, participated this past Sunday, November 17, in the I Trail Solidario Sendero del Agua de Galifa.
This activity puts an end to the training, leisure and sports activities that since May have been organized in the First Conference of Nature in the Protected Natural Area of ​​the Sierra de la Muela, Cabo Tiñoso and Roldan, promoted by the Association of Neighbors of Galifa together with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, the Municipal Neighborhood Board of Perín and the Manzanicos Sports Club.
The trail with exit and finish in Galifa has a tour of the northern area of ​​the Sierra de la Muela, within the Protected Natural Area, sharing much with the path called 'PR MU 116 Galifa Water Trail'.
In the men's category, Nicolás Escarabajal, from La Carrasca, with a record of 1h.10.10 was the winner, followed by Óscar de Francisco Ortiz, the Paquetazos Drill Team and José Manuel López, from the Mandarache.
In the women's category, Lidia Morales, from Mobel Automenor, was the first to reach the goal with a record of 1h.28.50, followed by Esther Sánchez, Club Cuatro Santos and Paula Serrano, from Vista Alegre Trail.
The benefits of the sports event were destined to collaborate with the Autismo Somos Todos association and the project called 'Ceratonia 500', in which 500 native carob trees are going to be planted.
After the race, participants and their families were able to enjoy a great paella, dessert and drinks from Rincon de la Teja and the musical performance of Zaid Ait Malek.
In addition to the absolute test, there was a 9-kilometer hiking trail and a race for the little ones.
