The Popular University continues its commitment to continuous improvement in all the services it offers to the public, maintaining its commitment to renew, update and improve them, with the renewal of its website and the creation of its virtual campus.
It was this Wednesday, November 20, when it has been presented at the Town Hall by the delegate Councilor for Culture, Carlos Piñana, along with the Councilor for New Technologies, Alejandra Gutiérrez, and the head of the Documentation and Process Center of Data of the City Council, María Baños, authors of the new portal.
The Popular University thus presents an updated design "with a much more attractive, visual and functional image," said Piñana, with an easy-to-navigate structure and headers to information on workshops, calendars, fees and current news.
Following the line of renewal in the digital field, the Virtual Campus has also been created, a new resource that allows students to interact with teachers and access materials related to their training, as well as other complementary resources.
Following the objective of having a more navigable, easy-to-use and accessible web page for any citizen, the new interface is responsive, adapting its image and content to any device, but also optimizing its SEO positioning in search engines.
Another novelty presented by the contents is the option to share them through Facebook, Twitter, mail and WhatsApp, which appears at the bottom of all the pages, thus facilitating the dissemination of the contents of the web.
Regarding accessibility, the portal complies with current regulations (RD 1112/2018 on accessibility of websites and applications for mobile devices in the public sector) and counts, as does the municipal website cartagena.es or the Tourism portal , with a new tool that, automatically, allows optimal navigation for people with disabilities, elderly or with limited digital skills.
