This Thursday, November 21, the Deslinde Poetry Festival of the Department of Culture programs two public events at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center with free admission until full capacity is reached.
The first of these will be at 7:00 p.m. in the section Oliver Brand hosts the poetic-musical recital 'Fados between verses', in which Verónica Aranda, a poet with extensive experience, singer and researcher specializing in copla and fado , will make a poetic-musical tour of Lisbon.
It includes the reading of poems of his authorship that trace an itinerary through the streets and popular neighborhoods of the Portuguese capital, with the interpretation of some emblematic fados of the Amália Rodrigues repertoire.
The act will be presented by the Director of Culture of the City Council, Fulgencia Plazas.
She will be accompanied on guitar by José Antonio Sánchez Aarnoutse, a flamenco guitar teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.
In 2018 he published his first album "The art of the encounter" that he presented at the Cultural Center.
A Cartagena musician, who with extensive musical training (both top titles of classical and flamenco guitar) has participated in various projects related to different musical styles (La Pepo, Rozalén, Manuel Luna ...)
About Verónica Aranda
Verónica Aranda (Madrid, 1982).
Poet, philologist, traveler, translator and fado singer, has lived in Italy, Belgium, Portugal, India and Morocco.
During the 2005-2006 academic year he enjoyed a writing grant at the Antonio Gala Foundation for young creators (Córdoba).
He has received the poetry awards Joaquín Benito de Lucas, Antonio Carvajal of Young Poetry, José Agustín Goytisolo, Young Art of the Community of Madrid, Margarita Hierro, Antonio Oliver Belmás, and the Accésit del Adonáis 2009, among others.

He has participated in International Poetry Meetings in Portugal, Morocco, in the Cereté Women's Poetry Festival (Colombia), Ileana Espinel Poetry Festival of Guayaquil (Ecuador), Puerto Rico Poetry Festival, The Americas Poetry Festival in New York and at the Havana Book Fair (Cuba).
DROVERO DUEL
At 20:30 h and in the Assembly Hall of the Cultural Center, members of the Association of Historical Memory of Cartagena and the José María Marín Trovera Association will stage the show 'Portmán 1913. Duel Trovero: Marín and "El Minero"'.
This act recreates the Great Evening Trovera that was held in Portman, apparently held in 1913, although the date is not known exactly, among the great troveros of that time: José María Marín and Manuel García Tortosa "El Minero", in which the first had to defend the employer and the second to the worker, and that has gone down in history as the best trovera performance of that time.
This show was called the "Social Evening" and, although it lasted several hours, it kept the audience attentive and excited all the time.
POETRY TO THE CENTER
The section of the festival 'Poetry at the center' will be held at the Isaac Peral and San Isidoro Institutes, the festival commemorates the figure of the poet Jaime Gil de Biedma on the anniversary of the ninety years of his birth.
The person in charge of transmitting the figure of this great poet to the Baccalaureate students of the educational centers is the literature professor Laura Peñafiel.
This act is closed and is carried out in the morning school hours.
