Hidrogea presents its H2030 project to boost progress and social welfare in Cartagena (19/11/2019)

Hidrogea has presented its project "H2030 Sustainable Cartagena", an initiative with which it intends to join efforts to achieve progress, modernization and social equality in Cartagena.

To achieve this, he has gathered in the room that houses the Peral Submarine of the Naval Museum, sixteen groups that have signed Manifesto H2030 in which "they commit to work collectively to promote a responsible change that allows the development of Cartagena in equality, accessibility and sustainability. "

In addition to Hidrogea, a company that promotes this project, Ana Belén Castejón has also signed, as the maximum representative of the City Council of Cartagena;

the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and its Region;

Alejandro Díaz as Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena;

Jorge Sánchez on behalf of ANSE;

Ana Correa, president of COEC and thus up to sixteen business entities, consumers and the third sector.

During the event a video was presented in which, in addition to Hidrogea workers, the Hospitality of Santa Teresa, ANSE and UPCT are also protagonists and for which the Cartagena band Nunatak and its song have been chosen as the soundtrack " The future is not written".

Andrés Martínez, Manager of Hidrogea in Cartagena explained that "this project is based on the United Nations 2030 Agenda and specifically on the Sustainable Development Goals. The seventeenth number speaks of alliances to achieve objectives."

The Manager continued explaining that "in Hidrogea we are convinced that only if we join our forces, administrations, companies and civil society can we achieve the social, economic and environmental progress of Cartagena."

H2030 Sustainable Cartagena is a living project and in the coming months there will be more associations that join the sixteen that have already joined the Manifesto for Sustainability proposed by Hidrogea.

For this, it will be necessary to continue working on the development and implementation of new projects, which will join existing ones such as collaboration with the UPCT through the Network of Chairs (through which 53 graduates have already passed), or the protection of biodiversity in the lagoons of Cabezo Beaza with ANSE.

For its part, the President and CEO, Inmaculada Serrano, explained that "the Cartagena H2030 project that we present today is just a simple example of the humble contribution of our company to try to help alleviate important global problems through small local initiatives, with our team as the main strength and always supporting us in SDG17, which works alliances with our relationship groups, as the main guarantee of success ".

The presentation also included the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo and the First Deputy Mayor, Manuel Padín.

The first mayor has closed the act stating that "the project that Hidrogea presents us today is very important because it demonstrates its desire to work actively for the social, economic and environmental transformation of our municipality."
