The El Batel and the Port of Cartagena Municipal Auditorium area hosted this Sunday, November 17, the 43rd edition of the Corpus Motorcycling Trophy.
From 10 in the morning, lovers of the motorcycle world could access this event for free, in which the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena has collaborated.
The competition has been organized by the Moto Club of Cartagena.
The Circuit del Batel hosted tests of all types of motorcycles and for all ages and, at noon, a tribute was made to the champion of Spain of motorcycles in the category of 125 cubic centimeters, the cartagenero Manuel Hernández Nicolás.
The Councilor for Sports, Diego Ortega, has been present at the Corpus Motorcycling Trophy.
The surroundings of the Municipal Auditorium hosted a motorcycle circuit 600 meters long in which the riders took 25 laps.
There were different tests during the morning, as reported by the technical director of the Trophy, José Diego Serrano.
First the 50 cc race took place.
Later, it was the turn of the motorcycle of the 80 and 125 cubic centimeter new pilots.
After this test, the veterans' bikes came out in the displacement of 80 and 125. The 250 bikes followed and the climax test put it on the free force, dedicated to motorcycles larger than 250 cubic centimeters.
At noon, there was a break in the competition to honor Manuel Hernández Nicolás from Cartagena, who was Spain's champion of 125 cubic centimeters.
This athlete is still linked to the world of motorcycles even though he is no longer a racing driver.
He currently leads the H43 team, which competed in Valencia this weekend with a Japanese driver.
