The Order of Saint Mary of Spain delivered this Friday, November 15, the Grand Cross of Honor to the City of Cartagena, an event that was held in the Reception Hall of the City Hall.
On behalf of the Municipal Corporation, the second deputy mayor, Manuel Padín, received it.
Also present was the councilor of the municipal corporation, Gonzalo Abad.
This act took place within the First Congress of Cavalry Orders, which was held in Cartagena on November 15 and 16.
It has addressed issues such as the role that these groups should play in the 21st century and in society.
In this event there have been gentlemen of multiple military and cavalry orders from Spain and Portugal.
There were also representatives of the nobility of both countries.
With the delivery of his distinction, the Order of Saint Mary of Spain strengthens its relations with the City of Cartagena.
This group has signed an agreement with the municipal council.
In addition, the Order of Santa María de España has donated items that have been exhibited since November 12 at the Castillo de la Concepción in Cartagena.
The Order of Santa de María de España is a Spanish military order of naval character created by order of the King of Castile, Alfonso X El Sabio, in 1270. The Tower of the Tribute of the Castle of the Conception of Cartagena was the headquarters where the Master of the Order lived and ruled from there.
