Football Club Cartagena and Football Club Barcelona took out their solidarity side on Wednesday, November 13, in the friendly match they played at the Cartagonova stadium.
A meeting that brought together more than 14 thousand people and raised approximately 140 thousand euros for those affected by DANA, which caused many damages throughout the Region of Murcia in mid-September.
"A great lesson was given on how hobbies work in this generous and supportive act, showing their gratitude for the victims of the DANA" said the Vice Mayor of Cartagena and Councilor for Sports of the City of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, in the presentation of the II edition of the Day of the Peñista, which will be held on Sunday, December 1 at the Cartagena municipal stadium.
The general director of FC Cartagena, Manolo Sánchez Breis, thanked everyone for their support and citizenship on this day and announced that they will meet very soon with the different municipalities to know in which projects or initiatives the money raised will be allocated.
Sánchez Breis has indicated that they want the money to go to “specific purposesâ€, for example, “if a nursery in Los Urrutias or Los Alcázares needs part of the proceeds for its remodelingâ€.
Arroyo explained that "the aid will be agreed with the Cartagena club but part of the money raised will go to the sports field, such as the repair of damage to the sports facilities of the municipality by the cold drop."
This friendly match demonstrated the support and solidarity of the Cartagena clubs.
On Sunday, December 1, these will take their colors in the celebration of Peñista Day, where Miguel Ángel Muñoz, president of the Cartagena Club Soccer Clubs, has been programmed, such as “the twinning with the Villarrobledo rocks, visits to the stadium Cartagonova, inflatables, human foosball, zumba classes, a gladiatorial position or the High Voltage concert â€.
The day of coexistence, organized by the Federation of Peñas of FC Cartagena and the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with Estrella Levante, Coca Cola, Frutas Juanmi or TeleCartagena, among others, will begin at 10:30 am with the visit to the Cartagena stadium and end with the league match between the Cartagena club and CP Villarrobledo, whose schedule is yet to be determined.
A thousand people are expected to attend this day.
Tickets for 5 euros have been put up for sale, which can be purchased in the different clubs, until November 30.
The day of the event will be purchased for 7 euros.
Sánchez Breis said that for the club "the fans are the 12th player and it is essential to achieve the objectives: achieve professional football."
In addition, he has stressed that the clubs can count on them because "thanks to the fans the FC Club Cartagena and Cartagena sound outside the Region and Spain."
Finally, the president of the clubs has announced that they have presented the candidacy to host in 2020 in Cartagena the National Congress of Peñas, an event that will take place over three days and will group 1,200 rockers from all the football clubs in Spain and that they hope that on January 10 or 11 from Madrid "we will get it".
