The local Government Board, meeting this morning on an ordinary basis, under the presidency of the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has approved the project for the completion of the urbanization works of the Residential Finca Buenos Aires.
As Arroyo has reported, this project includes actions amounting to about 377,000 euros that are part of the 500,000 euros guarantee executed by the City of Cartagena after the bankruptcy of the Cartagena Joven promoter.
Specifically, the sanitation network will be completed, green areas will be adapted and lighting will be improved by installing turrets.
The completion of the works planned in the urbanization project will allow the City Council to receive public spaces and facilities and finally take over their maintenance, as the neighbors have repeatedly claimed.
The City Council has already executed the remaining part of this guarantee to replace the electric cable of the lighting system, which had been stolen and had left the neighborhood for a while in the dark, just outside Marfagones Mills.
In another order of things, the Government Board has approved the necessary funds for the renovation of the beach rescue and surveillance booth in Cala Cortina, given its age and the deficiencies it presented;
as well as the acquisition of a new one that will be installed on the beach of La Chapineta, with the aim of obtaining the next concession of a blue flag.
A collaboration agreement has also been approved with the University of Murcia for the recognition of credits from students who collaborate with the organization of the Mandarache Prize of the Department of Youth, and other volunteer activities by the Department of Social Services.
The Board has also given the final green light to two grants totaling about 4,000 euros, granted by the City Council to two commercial initiatives in the Historic District area within the Investment Support Plan in this area of the city (PAICA) , by competitive concurrence.
Specifically, the two businesses that have received municipal support are a barber shop for men on Calle de la Palma and a tobacconist on Calle de la Serreta.
Finally, among other matters, the Board has approved the beginning of the file and the public consultation for the repeal of the current Electronic Administration ordinance and the elaboration of a new one adapted to the current legislation;
as well as the appointment of the members of the Municipal Board of Ambulatory Sale, which will be chaired by the councilor responsible for market and public roads, Juan Pedro Torralba, along with representatives of the municipal government, opposition groups, merchant associations, street vendors , neighborhood boards, neighborhood associations, COEC and Chamber of Commerce.
