The Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of Los Camachos is a "fundamental, essential and inalienable" issue, as assured by the Vice Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, during her speech at the General Assembly of the Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena and Region (COEC), in which Pedro Pablo Hernández has said goodbye and has welcomed the new president, Ana Correa.

Arroyo has also claimed as objectives for Cartagena the achievement of a high-speed rail connection, which boosts tourism, as well as better port facilities for the development of its economy.

For the vice mayor, these are interests, "shared between the municipality and its businessmen", which must be achieved through the "demand and collaboration, demand and cooperation" of public institutions and business organizations.

For his part, the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, has supported the fundamental character of the ZAL of Los Camachos and said that it is a project that has the support of the entire regional government.

In addition to the vice mayor, the incoming and outgoing presidents, and the president of the Community, the event has been attended by the president of CROEM, José María Albarracín, and that of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Martínez.

Also in attendance were the second deputy mayor, Manuel Padín, and the councilors, Cristina, Mora, Irene Ruiz and Alejandra Guitérrez.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, had excused her assistance by being in Barcelona to receive the Waves Award granted to La Mar de Música.

Pedro Pablo Hernández has given way, after eight years in office, to the new president of COEC, Ana Correa.
