The Reforestation Working Committee starts this legislature again with the objective of preparing the Master Plan that will coordinate all reforestation and revegetation actions in the municipality of Cartagena.
With this premise, this morning the new table met, where the Councilor for Sustainable City and European Projects, Cristina Mora, has been appointed as president and where the actions taken during the previous term and the challenges and challenges for the next four years, in order to ensure sustainability and the promotion of reforestation and revegetation.
Cristina Mora stressed that "the Reforestation Board is a space for dialogue, articulation and construction of agreements between the City Council and the various associations, considering it as one of the fundamental axes to fight against Climate Change in Cartagena."
The councilor explained that this first meeting was a contact where to establish the basis for the implementation of the Master Plan, “involving all associations and political groups with their suggestions and contributions to enhance and contribute to conservation and management sustainable reforestation ”.
To this end, a deadline has been opened until December 31 so that all the members of the table can contribute their ideas that will be added to the draft Master Plan that will be presented the first week of February.
At the table, issues such as strengthening the active participation of both citizens and institutions and the private sector have been discussed, consolidating a bank of Sustainable Projects at the municipal level, as well as, consolidation and sustainability from Education and Awareness so that the objectives raised be of all.
“We face a series of challenges and challenges, with great enthusiasm and a great team that will allow us to consolidate future actions in the next year,” concluded Cristina Mora.
