These scholarships are intended to promote and facilitate access to vocational training for young people in the Region of Murcia, especially those residing in towns near the industrial complex
Fifteen students from the Region of Murcia today received the Professional Training Scholarships granted by SABIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
These scholarships, for a unit amount of 250 euros, will cover the expenses derived from their studies such as tuition, transportation, school supplies or textbooks.
In addition, the fellows will have the preferential right to carry out in the SABIC facilities the internship period offered by the training cycle.
Juan Alemany, Director of the industrial complex of SABIC, and Sergio López, General Director of Educational Evaluation and Vocational Training have been responsible for delivering the scholarships.
In addition, students have been able to see first-hand the facilities of La Aljorra through a visit to the complex.
These scholarships are intended to promote and facilitate access to vocational training for young people in the Region of Murcia, especially those residing in towns near the company's industrial complex.
With them, we want to boost employment opportunities in the environment.
The beneficiaries of these scholarships have been nine girls and six boys students from locations that include Cartagena, La Aljorra, San Antonio Abad, Molinos Marfagones, Mazarrón, Beniel, Molina de Segura, Murcia and Lorca.
This initiative is another example of SABIC's commitment to the community, which this year has been especially evident with the creation of the SABIC Spain Foundation.
The Foundation has among its main priorities to promote education in science and technology, through a wide range of direct activities in the educational field, actively collaborating with training in the Region of Murcia and especially its youth.
