Mesón Hidalgo hosts another year next Friday, November 22, at 9:00 pm, the AFAL Cartagena Charity Dinner.
This celebrates its XXIV edition and aims to provide multidisciplinary support to family members and caregivers of Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative dementias.
The solidarity dinner was presented by the Vice Mayor of Cartagena and Councilor for Social Welfare, Noelia Arroyo, the manager of AFAL - Association of Family and Friends of Patients with Alzheimer's Disease and other Pathologies of Cartagena and Region - Raúl Nieto and the daughter of a patient with Alzheimer, Conchi Martínez.
The vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, has recognized the work of professionals and families that influence the improvement of the quality of life of people with Alzheimer's disease.
In addition, he has invited all the Cartagena people who sign up for this solidarity dinner to show their solidarity with AFAL.
In Cartagena, 7,000 people suffer from Alzheimer's and other dementias related to aging.
One of them is the mother of Conchi Martínez, of the AFAL directive, who has indicated that “many times the work and workshops of the association help patients more than the medication itselfâ€.
In addition, he has requested that the project for the transfer of the association to the former San Antón health center be carried out as soon as possible.
From the City Council, according to Arroyo, "this initiative is being managed to improve the conditions of the patients, families and professionals of AFAL".
The AFAL Association offers physiotherapy, cognitive stimulation and speech therapy workshops and also offers families technical assistance, training and above all the company and the experience that family members need and appreciate.
One of the activities they carry out is the charity dinner.
The manager of AFAL, Raúl Nieto, thanked Mesón Hidalgo for offering the venue for the performance of this activity and the High Tension musical group for entertaining the evening on Friday night 22.
