The vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, has challenged the spokesman of MC Cartagena, José López, to denounce her and prove in a court the false accusations made in a statement of her training.
“What Mr. López accuses me of is actions that could constitute a crime of embezzlement and another of influence peddling.
Therefore, I challenge Mr. López to bring this false complaint before a judge, â€said the vice mayor.
Noelia Arroyo has asked López to leave out public life to families and has refused to pressure municipal officials to favor a family business that has been working in Cartagena for two generations.
Arroyo has explained that his appearance was produced by staining the institution's name with false accusations and involving public officials.
The vice mayor has challenged the spokesman of Mc Cartagena to "prove to a judge and the Cartagena that what he says is true, and if he dares not report, he will be credited, once again, that it is a lie."
In her statement from MC, she accused the vice mayor of pressuring municipal officials to put content related to a family business on the town hall's website.
"We are used to Mr. López doing it permanently without consequences, and I am not willing to accept it, I am not going to consent."
She has also been upset with the repeated accusations and innuendoes of Lopez against her and her family, and has accused him of "hiding" behind a press release and the councilor who signed it, because "he knows that his accusations are false. if not, he would be at the door of the court himself â€and has rejected the use of innuendo and accusations against family members as a political weapon.
