The Technical Office of the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Dependencies (PMAD), belonging to the Department of Social Services of the City Council, participated last Saturday, November 9 with various activities at the UrbanCTFest 2019, organized by the Department of Youth.
Being one of the objectives of the PMAD, being present in the spaces and meetings of the young people of Cartagena, a series of activities of Addiction Prevention and Risk Reduction were carried out.
Among them, it is worth mentioning the Battles of Mcs, where the participants, in the qualifying phase, used the theme “What do you do in your free time?” In their presentation pattern.
In collaboration with the San Nicols Driving School and its specialized road safety personnel, for the second consecutive year, they had the installation of a rollover simulator, one of the most visual road awareness tools that exists.
Through this, the effectiveness of the correct placement of the seat belt and the placement of the seat in the event of a vehicle overturning is checked.
This year a circuit with simulation glasses of different levels of alcohol in the body was also installed, another exceptional tool to raise awareness of the safety risks involved in the loss of reflexes and the reduction of skills as a result of alcohol consumption and other drugs
Both activities had very good acceptance and a great participation, by all kinds of public from groups of young people to complete families.
During the whole day there was also a stand where objective and truthful information was provided on the consumption of alcohol and other drugs.
