Volunteers of the Federation of Underwater Activities of the Region of Murcia, aboard six ships, submerged on Saturday in the waters of Cabo de Palos to extract 80 kilos of plastics and other contaminating objects.
In their work, the divers had the help of an underwater drone.
The beaches have also been cleaned with a group of volunteers who traveled this part of the Cartagena coast on foot.
The participants left from the Naranjito diving club to the coves to do the dives.
Simultaneously, volunteers on foot performed a coast cleaning on the beaches in the area.
The organizers of this activity have observed that the marine areas where the dives have been carried out had a low waste index.
However, greater amounts were seen on the surrounding beaches.
The activity ended with a fraternization paella for all attendees, where the President of the FASRM, Jesus Cano, thanked the Naranjito Diving Center and all the volunteers for their participation.
