The City Council of Cartagena will fulfill this Saturday, November 9, with its secular promise to make an offering to the Four Saints and the Virgin of Rosell every year, in thanksgiving for their miraculous intervention during the well-known Storm of St. Catherine on 24 November 1694
The threat that the rain, the wind and the waves devastated a large part of the population of Cartagena, dissipated, according to the chronicles of the time, when its terrified inhabitants entrusted their destiny to San Isidoro, Santa Florentina, San Leandro and San Fulgencio, and therefore the patron saint, the Virgin of Rosell.
The so-called votive function of Santa Catalina will take place during the celebration of the Eucharist that in honor of the Virgin of Rosell will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of Santa María de Gracia, and will officiate the general viacario of the Diocese of Cartagen, Juan Tudela.
The person in charge of making the offering on behalf of the Corporation will be the second deputy mayor, Manuel Padín
