The vice mayor and councilor of the Area of Social Welfare of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, and the mayor delegate of Social Services, Mercedes Garca, have accompanied the managing director of the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), Raquel Cancela, on her visit to the center by day for the elderly of Los Dolores, where they have been raised the possibilities of expanding the number of places available.
Noelia Arroyo has described this site as “one of the best centers we have in our Region.
It is new, it was built relatively recently, in 2013, and right now we are serving 20 older people, but we have more capacity.
The idea was for the IMAS managing director to know the installation, the possibilities that the center has, and to take it into account in her decisions. ”
The center of daytime stays for the elderly in Los Dolores has about 500 square meters of constructed area.
In its facilities, there is a gym, geriatric baths, a lounge-dining room and a small infirmary to take care of the twenty people who come daily to this center.
As a gift, the director of IMAS and the two councilors have handicrafts made by the center's elders.
