The Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has given its approval today to the call for eight positions of Teaching Assistant Professor for next year in competitive competition.
It is the third consecutive year that this call is launched.
The purpose is to amortize part-time teaching positions: associate professors and replacement teachers, in specialties where there are teachers who have obtained the necessary accreditation from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), says the Vice Chancellor of Teachers and Teaching Innovation, Luis Javier Lozano.
As a novelty for this year, the call includes two priority criteria.
The first corresponds to those areas where you have professed with an age over 64 years and, therefore, with a near retirement horizon.
The second, to those areas where temporary positions are being occupied by women who have obtained the corresponding teaching staff accreditation, Lozano adds.
With this measure, the UPCT «decidedly begins its commitment to the rejuvenation of the workforce while reducing the volume of temporary teachers who joined the University at the time when public employment offers were blocked due to the crisis ”, points out the Vice-Rector for Teachers.
This measure will be complemented by the commitment to the incorporation of young research talent through the “Ramn y Cajal” and “Beatriz Galindo” programs of the Ministry of Education.
The staff of the UPCT is composed of 576 people.
Of them, 126 are women.
256 teachers are over 50 years old.
