Frigate captain José Emilio Regodon, commander of the Hespérides Oceanographic Research Vessel, will explain on Wednesday at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) the oceanographic, seismic and mainland projects that will develop the great scientific expedition in the new Antarctic campaign.
The Regodon conference is part of the Economy Society Forum and will analyze the Spanish Polar Program.
This project mobilizes agencies and institutions of various ministries.
Spain has deployed various infrastructures in the area, two Antarctic bases and two research vessels, which are mainly dedicated to the research and conservation of Antarctica.
Regodon, a naval helicopter pilot and communications specialist, has been the commander of the oceanographic research vessel A-33 Hesperides since 2018, a Spanish vessel designed to conduct multidisciplinary scientific research in all the seas and oceans of the planet.
The conference, open to all citizens, will be held on November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Isaac Peral auditorium of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the UPCT.
