The 'Encesta glass, we all win' campaign begins in Cartagena with the installation of the five igloos shaped like a ball that are in the busiest points of the city from this Monday, day 4, and that will take place until Sunday , November 10, with the aim of promoting recycling through sports.
In this campaign organized by Ecovidrio, an entity in charge of managing the recycling of these containers throughout the country, together with the Basketball Federation of the Region of Murcia, Cartagena will compete alongside eleven other municipalities in the Region to win, whoever has collected more containers in these containers, the reform of a municipal basketball court with recycled glass, this being the first of these characteristics in the Region.
The Councilor for Infrastructure, Mara Casajs, recalled the five special containers for the collection of glass will be located in the Plaza San Francisco, where she attended the presentation of the campaign this Monday, next to those located in the Plaza de San Sebastin (next to the Gran Hotel), Plaza Juan XXIII, in the Alameda de San Antn at the height of the intersection with Asdrbal Street and in front of the Plaza Juan Calero de Los Dolores.
With this type of actions, glass recycling is also promoted in Cartagena, which has been progressively improving in recent years, “thus contributing to lower CO2 emissions, improving environmental quality, reducing energy consumption and increase the life of the glass in the recycling plant ”.
Thus, with the support of neighborhood associations and merchants, the councilor asks the participation of all neighbors and hoteliers during this week.
During these months, the campaign will be extended to the municipalities of Murcia, Alcantarilla, guilas, Lorca, Molina de Segura, Torre Pacheco, Mazarrn, Cieza, Yecla, San Javier and Totana.
