The acts of commemoration of the XX anniversary of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena that began with the opening of the last school year, have been closed this Wednesday, October 30, with a gala that has hosted the Paraninfo of the Muralla del Mar Campus in the that the work of the best students of the university has been recognized since its creation in 1998.
"There is a big difference between Cartagena 20 years ago and now in which the Polytechnic University has left its hallmark," said the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who has chaired the gala, "the mark they have left it is the rehabilitation of so many buildings â€, which now house its classrooms.
Together with her, they were also at the gala, which has had the musical intervention of the Sauces Coral School, the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz, the president of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, the Government delegate in the Region, Francisco Jiménez, and the president of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena (COEC), Pedro Pablo Hernández, among other authorities.
In total, there have been 59 awards that have been given to graduates with the best record of each degree during these 20 years of the more than 27,000 students who have been trained in this university.
COEC has also been very important during the event, which has received the Gold Medal from the UPCT in recognition of the collaboration and support provided by the organization both in academic practices and in issues of employability and entrepreneurship, or putting March of two chairs together.
Together with the projection of images and videos of the evolution of the university since its creation, the presentation of the Association of Alumni and Friends of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, recently created, by the hand of its president, has also taken place.
