The Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Cartagena has prepared a series of free activities to celebrate its Cultural Week from November 9 to 14.
The play Don Juan Tenorio and lectures on the cemetery of Los Remedios, the Order of Santa María de España or on the Cartagena Film Festival will host the auditorium of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country.
The headquarters of this institution is located on Calle del Aire.
The City Council of Cartagena collaborates in this cultural week.
The Vice Mayor and Councilor for Social Welfare and Sports of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo has presented this event with the Secretary General of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country, Pedro Negroles.
The Vice Mayor of Cartagena Noelia Arroyo has stressed that this institution is one of the oldest in Spain.
“Since its birth, it has always been at the service of formation and culture.
These societies are daughters of the Enlightenment, who were born in the time of Carlos III to put new knowledge at the service of citizens â€.
In addition, Arroyo recalled that Cartagena still retains one of the 17 headquarters of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country that remain in Spain.
The Cultural Week starts with the play 'Don Juan Tenorio.

On Monday, November 11 at 8:15 p.m., the conference on historical artistic notes of the Cemetery of Los Remedios will be held by the chronicler of the city of Cartagena Juan Ignacio Ferrández García.
The conference cycle will continue on Tuesday, November 12 at 8:15 p.m.
The Major Commander of the Order of Saint Mary of Spain and Knight of the Royal and Military Order of Saint Michael of the Wing, Juan Aurelio Bernal y Ruiz, will speak about the restoration and future of the Order of Saint Mary of Spain.
On Wednesday, November 13 at 8:15 p.m., it will be the turn of the cinema in Cartagena and its festivals.
This conference will be given by the Vice President of the Cartagena International Film Festival, Sergio Martínez.
The Cultural Week of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Cartagena will end on Thursday, November 14 at 8:15 p.m. with the conference 'The historical novel', by the president of the Association of the Historical Novel, Obdulio López Fernández.
On Friday, November 15, the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Cartagena will appoint Honorary President to the regional government leader, Fernando López Miras, as announced by the secretary general of this institution, Pedro Negroles.
