'Human rights and collective LGTBI: Principles of Yogyakarta' is the theme that Cartagena Piensa proposes this Wednesday, October 30, in a new meeting of the Awareness and Thought Cafes, which will take place at the El Soldadito de Plomo cafeteria, at 20: 00 hours
On this occasion, the guest is Mariano Beltrán, psychologist, activist and observer of Human Rights, thanks to the collaboration of the Galactyco Collective of Cartagena.
The Yogyakarta Principles: Principles on the application of international human rights legislation in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity or, simply, Yogyakarta Principles, is a document that includes a series of principles related to sexual orientation and gender identity, in order to guide the interpretation and application of the norms of international human rights law, establishing basic standards, to avoid abuses and to protect the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people .
Mariano Beltrán will be presented by José Mª García Hernández, member of the Galactyco collective.
ABOUT MARIANO BELTRÁN
Mariano Beltrán (Murcia, 1988) has a degree in Psychology, activist and observer of Human Rights.
Member of the Advisory Council of the International Foundation for Human Rights, he collaborates with Human Rights Watch, the Canadian Association for Law and Truth “En Veroâ€, participating, among other issues, in the dissemination and promotion of the Yogyakarta Principles.
He collaborates in national and international media, such as The Huffington Post Spain, United States or Mexico;
Iris Press, El Español, etc.
Currently, Mariano Beltrán is expanding his academic training in the field of Human Rights at the Universidad Diego Portales de Chile, at the University of Geneva and at the UNED.
